  6. Lets keep it real now, if Erie were that great of a place to stay... We wouldnt have to be so overwhelmingly convincing about it being a great place to stay. The majority of the things listed here can be found in a VARIETY of other places minus all of the hard ass ghetto rats, unnecessary violence, bogus laws and crooked judicial system, lack of jobs, dieing industries, shitty roads, disgusting winters, tax fraud, an average of 65 sunny days per year, and on and on and on... Even if I do have to sacrifice a good pepperoni ball or some Alfees wings every now and then to avoid the black hole of a dying economy Erie is... ill rest my head a lot better at night... Its not called dreary Erie for nothing people! Stay far far away from the mistake on the lake.

    1. Every town has a negative nickname given to it by people who grew up loathing it, even the mistake on the lake isn't an Erie exclusive, I've heard it applied to both Cleveland and Buffalo. But Erie is what it is and while it might seem to be floundering, I think it is doing better than a lot of cities in a similar transitional state.
Don't always focus on the bad stuff man. There are good things in the world if you just look.

  8. You left out perhaps the best thing - Bertrand's Bistro on North Park Row. The best restaurant north of Pittsburgh. Real French cooking at reasonable prices served in a friendly atmosphere. Far better than the indelicate pepperoni balls, hot dogs, or deep fried wings.

    1. I do love Bertrand's! My go-to dish is the canard a l'abricoti and of course a banana's foster crepe for dessert. I also left off 1201 Kitchen, Mi Scuzi, and La Bella! Erie has amazing fine dining options, something a lot of people don't think about. Thanks for the addition!

All this fine food talk got me craving some Mi Scuzi Saltimbocca. Guess I know what I am having for dinner!
